For you to get all the features and functions of the Explora decoder, you have to connect it to the internet. DStv Explora decoders does not comes with an in-built WIFI, meaning you need the help of an external Wi-Fi connector to get internet on the DStv Explora decoder.
However multichoice as the parent company for Dstv have designed Dstv Wi-Fi connector, purposely for Dstv Explora decoders. Now for dstv Wi-Fi connector installation to Dstv Explora decoders, you need an Ethernet cable and power cable depending on the type of dstv Wi-Fi connector dongle.

Dstv Wi-Fi connector comes with an Ethernet cable and a USB cable for power supply to the Wi-Fi connector. For any smartphone or computer internet connection with an Explora decoder and the Wi-Fi connector, the pairing connection must be made on the Dstv Wi-Fi webpage.

Below are the steps you need to follow to connect dstv Wi-Fi connector and Explora decoder to mobile internet:
- Connect the Ethernet cable and the power cable at the right port of the Wi-Fi connector.
- Insert the other half of the Ethernet cable and the power cable (USB) to the Ethernet ports and the USB ports of your computer respectively.
- The power indicator lights will turn on for initial signal that the Wi-Fi connector is working.
- Go to any web browser on your computer and login to Dstv Wi-Fi local login (dstvwifi.local)
- select the right Wi-Fi network available that you want to connect it to the Dstv Explora decoder
- Provide the right password for the connection confirmation.
- Remove dstv Wi-Fi connector from the computer and connect it back to the dstv Explora decoder.
After a successful connection has been made you need to check the connectivity status on the on Dstv Explora decoder.
Below are the steps you have to follow to check your Wi-Fi connector status:
- Press on the menu on your DStv remote.
- Look for settings in the menu
- Select system setting from the setting menu.
- Press press OK on connectivity setup to open your dstv explora decoder internet setup status.
