HOW TO INSTALL DSTV DISH AND DECODER.
You can get DSTV channels on all free-to-air decoders in Africa with their correct frequency and symbol rate that is 12245 (H) 27500 but guess what, you will only get access to few free channels. Never allow any installer to unlock your decoder with software that breaks down DSTV channels because it’s illegal.

- Avoid placing it below the corner of your roofing where the roofing will cover the upper space of your dish.
- Avoid placing it too close to another building
- Make sure you place it at the right place in your house where the dish will be able to receive signals from the east at 36 degrees. Remember checking the east side of your standing point before placing it.
After finding the perfect position, now is the time to fix the dish pole onto the available surface of metal, wood or concrete.

After fixing your dish pole unto the available hard surface, now is the time to hang your dish on it and start tracking for DSTV signal at the east direction of your standing point.
Make sure the pole is fixed unto a hard surface.
Now to track for DSTV signal as i said earlier, you need a free to air decoder, you can use satellite finder if you have it or an inbuilt satellite television.
You cannot use the DSTV decoder to track for your signals as a starter.
The next step is to strip or cut the both ends of your cable.
After fixing the pins, the next step is to join the cable from the LNB on the dish to your receiver.
Now is the time to track for your DSTV signal, so you will have to key in the DSTV frequency and symbol rate on your satellite finder, decoder, or inbuilt satellite flat screen television. Always choose DSTV satellite name which Eutelsate 36 degrees east. And then key in this easy tracking frequency and symbol rate
12245 (H) 27500
After adding the DSTV tracking frequency, next step is to rotate and adjust the dish to get the DSTV signal quality. Also have in mind that you can’t use the DSTV decoder to track for your signal. And make sure you get maximum signal quality percentage.
The percentage must be above 60%.

After tracking for your signal, you need to connect your cable from the dish to the DSTV decoder. The next thing is to activate your decoder.

First and foremost, you need to scan and upgrade the decoder before you call office number of your country and speak any language of your choice, for then to do the activation for you.
Make sure you press 200 on the remote before calling, because they will order you to put it on channel 200 which is supersports blitz.
Make sure you have your details available.
Below are the details they will request:
- Location
- Your name/customer name
- Phone number
So after giving out your details, it will not take more than 3 minutes for your channels to start working.
And for the first month of activation is free, but only for access package. So if you click on channel and is not working, maybe is not part of your package. After activation you can call them to upgrade your package. If you feel that the access package is not enough for your first month, you can top up for different package.
