How To Set LNB Position – Dstv

LNB as a product actually means Low-Noise Block down converter. It amplifies signal microwaves from satellite and send it down to the receiver to convert it to video and audio. To set the LNB at the right position to track for any satellite or transponder, there are zones in which you can direct the LNB to get you the actual satellite. There’s manual that’s supposed to come with every LNB but it’s not common to find an LNB made from China with such manual. In this case you have to use some strategies that actually works in setting up the LNB at the right position.

THE VIDEO BELOW WILL GIVE YOU MORE DETAILS ABOUT HOW TO PROPERLY SET LNB

The satellite dish is like a clock and with the ku-band LNB’s, where the cable port is pointing indicates where you have position your LNB.

To sets the LNB right for every transponder depending on the satellite and the zones that you are tracking that satellite from, any transponder with horizontal polarity have to be set at 9 o’clock or 3 o’clock and you can adjust it to either 8 o’clock or 4 o’clock.

With regards to transponder with vertical polarity, you have to set it at either 12 o’clock or 6 o’clock. You can also adjust it to somewhere 2 o’clock and 10 o’clock depending on the location of the satellite.

Moreover, any satellite that you track, after getting enough stable signal, always adjust the LNB to know the available signal in that position before you tight it. In most transponders and satellites, if you want to know their right position to set the LNB, rotate it 360°, where it gets the maximum signal strength that’s where it should be.
