Resetting your DStv Explora decoder is the best option if you’re experiencing an unusual problem on your decoder. It could be a missing channel on your package or a DStv related error. Resetting the decoder to factory defaults will enable you to get a fresh page on your decoder which will clear all unwanted errors.
THE VIDEO BELOW ILLUSTRATES HOW TO RESET YOUR DSTV EXPLORA DECODER TO FACTORY DEFAULTS
Below are the steps to follow to reset your DStv Explora Decoder to factory defaults.

Press on the blue button on your remote.

On the menu page look for setting and press OK on it

On the settings page put it on system settings and press OK on it.

Select reset decoder settings

Put it on reset to factory defaults and press OK

Confirm by selecting reset to factory defaults again.
After rebooting, you need to scan the decoder to proceed.

Below are the steps you have to follow to scan your DStv explora decoder:

On the first page of the installation wizard, you need to select your preferred language which is between English and Portuguese.

The satellite option is on the second page. The satellite have been grouped into two based on your country of residence. You are required to select IS20 satellite if you are living in the listed countries below:
Botswana, Malawi, Mozambique, South Africa, Swaziland, Zambia and Zimbabwe. For the rest of Africa you have to select E36B satellite press OK to proceed.

On the third page select manual setup and press OK .

The step 4 is the LNB type. Since DStv explora have to be installed with a unicable LNB, you have to select ( Unicable TM/SATcr ) .
Leave the user band frequency and the index figures to be the same. Scroll down on press OK on the scan option.
You have to check the signal status on the right side of the page. There have to be blue indicator showing that there’s a signal from the satellite dish.

Proceed to scan by pressing OK on the scan option.
